Our minutes count forwarded calls only, rounded up to the minute, and inbound texts are never billed. Past your monthly allowance, forwarded minutes are 5 cents each, capped at $50 a month on Basic and $100 on Pro.
The take
Two products, two different problems.
If one number is enough, go and take the free one
Google Voice is free for personal use in the US, it calls and texts out, and it forwards to your phones. We do not have a version of that argument that wins, and a comparison page that pretended otherwise would not be worth reading.
One number is also the failure mode
Every company you have ever signed up with holds the same second number. One of them sells the list, and that number rings for years, because rotating it means personally re-notifying everyone who legitimately has it.
A number per company turns the leak into a receipt
Give the dealership one number and the gym another. When one of them starts ringing at 7am you know exactly who sold you, and you burn that number on its own. Every other number you handed out keeps working.
What ExpressNumber cannot do: Numbers are receive-only. You cannot call or text out from them. They cannot reach 911, and they are not a replacement for your real line. Some banks and services refuse virtual numbers, so keep your real one for those. US numbers only today. If one of those is a dealbreaker, Google Voice is the better buy.
