Everyone who finds your listing can tap Call.
A service listing shows to customers searching near you, and the Call button rings whatever number sits behind it. Make it a number you can end, and keep the one your family calls out of it.
Put an ExpressNumber number behind the Call button on your OfferUp service listing instead of your own. Customers tap Call, your phone rings, and you burn the number when the listing comes down.

Create a number in your dashboard and name it after the listing, such as OfferUp handyman. It is live in about a minute. When you post or edit your service listing, type it into the Phone Number field so the Call button rings it. Calls ring the phone you already carry, and the caller only ever sees the number you gave them.
Use your own mobile for that step. OfferUp supports US mobile numbers only for verifying an account and says VoIP numbers will not work. The number customers see is the one on your service listing, and that is where your ExpressNumber number goes.
No. For items, OfferUp says to keep the chat in OfferUp messaging and not to share your phone number with buyers or sellers. The number is for your service listing and for the customers who book you.
No. Your numbers are receive-only: they take calls and texts, and they never make them. You answer calls on your own phone, and you cannot reply to a text from the inbox.
Yes. Every number has three modes: Forward rings your phone and lets texts in, Texts only stops calls and keeps the texts coming, and Block stops both. You change the mode from your dashboard.
